I started drawing and painting as a teenager in Denver, Judy says. My grandmother was an artist who worked in oil. My mother majored in art and music at the University of Denver.
I took art lessons in high school and learned to paint in oils. I like to work in oil because of the great colors! I did an oil painting of my mother in high school.
I wanted to go to art school but was discouraged by my parents. I became a nurse where there were more jobs available. I then got married and moved to Germany with my 1 year old child and husband, Bill. Eventually, we moved back to Baltimore and Palo Alto, where I loved working as a real estate agent.
When I moved back to Colorado, I went on to draw and paint dinosaurs. I have illustrated three books on dinosaurs. I volunteered at the Denver Museum and did some drawings for one of the curators that acquainted me with the local paleontology community.
I have recently been doing oil paintings of dogs, and murals.
Each artist we collaborate with selects a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to receive 10% of our company's profits from their designs at the end of each year. Judy has chosen Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison, Colorado as her nonprofit!
