Judy started drawing and painting as a teenager in Denver. Her grandmother was an artist who worked in oils, and her mother majored in art and music at the University of Denver. Art was always part of her world. She took lessons in high school and learned to paint in oils, a medium she still loves for its colors.
She wanted to go to art school but became a nurse instead... and then life took her to Germany, Baltimore, and Palo Alto before Colorado called her home!
Back in Colorado, Judy began drawing and painting dinosaurs and has illustrated three books on the subject. She volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and did drawings for one of the curators, which brought her into the local paleontology community. She has recently been painting dogs and murals.
Judy is a longtime friend of fellow ArtFair artist Gary Raham, and the two collaborated on the Ankylosaurus Tee, which features Judy's drawing on top and Gary's dinosaur on the bottom :-)
